ZAP Electric Bikes, Scooters, Cars and More

My heart has always been in alternative energy. Before coming to the work I now do I ran an electronic salvage business and provided industrial batteries, cable, meters -- stuff required for home alternative energy generation -- to hundreds of families in California and Nevada. ZAP (Zero Air Pollution) manufactures a growing array of electric vehicles and related energy products.

This photo is of my dad and I on one of our first outings with our ZAP equipped mountain bikes. We followed the old right of way of the Sacramento Northern Railroad (ironically, a now defunct electric railroad) heading west from Lafayette, California through Moraga and ending up near Canyon half way up the East side of the Oakland Hills. Since then we have taken many more rides in Yosemite and all around the San Francisco Bay Area.

My motor (one of the first ZAPs) was a gift from my daughter. She gave it to me about 10 years ago. A year later a few of us got together and gave dad a motor for his 74th birthday. The ZAPs have been absolutely dependable, trouble free and a whole lot of fun. Since we got our motor kits, ZAP has added many new products including electric scooters, ready to go electrified bikes, electric cars, electric motorcycles and more (see below). I'm planning on buying a ZAP scooter in the near future and maybe a couple of helmets that don't make us look so darned dorky :) Check out ZAP's latest offerings now.

Thanks,

Michael R. Meuser
