Recently Congress, industry, various law enforcement agencies, and the Whitehouse have vigorously supported legislation that will thwart full public disclosure of potentially life- and health-saving "worst case scenarios." The reason they offer for doing this is that terrorists might use this information to launch attacks on chemical facilities. The messages linked below, from two prominent leaders of U.S. business interests, suggest that the internet threat does not come so much from terrorists as it does from environmentalists.
