Earth4Energy: Do-It-Yourself Renewable Energy

No matter how you look at it, energy is expensive and it's going to become more expensive in the future.

Government support for renewables goes up and down with gas prices and political power. The government now has big plans for renewables. Even if these are carried out they won't happen fast enough. Energy costs will keep rising and become more scarce especially as we take more active steps towards curbing climate change and global warming. Energy for our homes could very well become totally unaffordable or even unavailable.

On the plus side, there are tax credits available but most commercial systems exceed these by quite a lot and you still end up paying alot of out of pocket expenses or have to go into debt. Even if the credits cover the entire systems, in most cases you still have to come up with the money up front - something that is difficult or impossible for many of us.

So... What are we to do? The best way is to create our own devices and systems as much as possible. Renewable energy is not rocket science. Much that can be done to reduce or even eliminate our dependence on commercial energy is simple, using common materials and tools.

There are many free plans on the internet that we can use. One of the best I have found is BuildItSolar.com. They have hundreds of plans, tips and how-to articles.

As good as the online plans and articles are, I found them very frustrating. So many options, so many ways to do things. Hours, days and weeks or more could be spent buying, building and experimenting - not for me.

In my life, I've found that the best way is to rely on someone who has already done it and really knows his stuff. After a lot of searching I found Michael Harvey. Michael knows all about do-it-yourself renewable energy. So, check out Michael's Earth4Energy website for the best in do-it-yourself renewable energy. Michael's kit includes an easy to follow how-to manual and videos.

You will certainly find what you need to build your own systems and, who knows, maybe this will spark a new career for you, maybe you will become your community's renewable energy guru.

Earth4Energy is the original instruction manual on how to produce your own power generators, wind-based and solar-based. Michael Harvey has 15 years of experiences building renewable energy systems.

Here are a few exceprts from the manual.

"The first solar power generator I will talk about will be my portable system that you can use to power just about anything you like. This is also a good system that you can take camping and you can create it for no more than $200." (from page 8)

"To save even more money I’m going to give you a neat little tip that has literally saved me thousands. I will tell you exactly how I manage to get all of my solar panels for free. Now if you prefer to simply purchase your panels that’s fine. I am just offering this information as you may be able to save some money." (from page 21)

"A wind turbine large enough to provide enough energy to power an average sized home can run anywhere from $6,000 to over $20,000. They currently reduce utility bills by 50%-90% on average and typically pay for themselves after 8-15 years. You can also build one, or multiple windmills to obtain similar results for much cheaper than $6,000." (from page 46)

Thanks,

Mike

P.S. Here are some free renewable energy potential maps that should prove to be useful to you.
