Best wishes for the New Year!*** ** EPA INFORMATION ** Environmental Data Registry http://www.epa.gov/edr/index.htm The Environmental Data Registry (EDR) is a comprehensive, authoritative source of reference information about environmental data. It is not the environmental data itself, but rather the information that helps describe the data and make it more meaningful. It provides information on the definition, origin, source, and location of environmental data. When used in conjunction with an environmental information database, the EDR enables users to better understand the information they are accessing. ** GOVERNMENT INFORMATION ** Operation Fresh Start http://www.sustainable.doe.gov/freshstart/index.htm Sponsored by the Department of Energy's Office of Energy Efficiency and Renewable Energy, Operation Fresh Start is designed to help individuals and communities incorporate sustainable principles and technologies into their plans when they recover from a flood, earthquake, or other disaster. This site serves as a gateway to information from a variety of federal agencies that deal with disaster recovery. Read case studies of community solutions or find information for home and business owners to help prepare for or recover from a disaster. ** INTERNATIONAL INFORMATION ** ZERI: Zero Emissions Research Initiative http://zeri.org/ ZERI was founded in 1994 to support, through educational programs, industry's transformation to zero emission operations. ZERI's newsletter is available online with the current issue reporting on such topics as sustainable development in the Amazon and applying zero emissions concepts to Japanese industry. This site also serves as a gateway to other ZERI sites in Brazil, Namibia, Mexico, Japan, Germany and the UK. ** BUSINESS/CORPORATE/NONPROFIT INFORMATION ** Society of Environmental Journalists http://www.sej.org/ The Society of Environmental Journalists (SEJ) is a non-profit organization providing convenient access to environmental information and research tools.
