These rankings are a beginning at prioritizing and putting our efforts where they most count. Of course, ranking in this way does not tell us
who in California is most at risk to these releases. This analysis must wait until EPA provides the State TRI data files in their raw form. This raw data provides locational information (longitude and latitude), among other information, that is necessary to locate the facilities within smaller geographic units such as zip codes, census tracts, and census block-groups. EPA says that this data (which is usually already available on RTK Net) will be available in June, 2000.
